Dr Hugh Bradlow became Research Director at TRL in 1995 and in February
1997 became Director. In 2000, he became Chief Technology Officer of Telstra. |
Dr Bradlow graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Cape Town in 1973 and received the D.Phil. degree for research in experimental nuclear physics from the University of Oxford.
Dr Bradlow was a Control Systems Engineer at ICI Plastics Division in the United Kingdom and a Professor of Electrical Engineering (Digital Systems) at the University of Cape Town from 1980 to 1986.
In 1987, he moved to Australia where he took up a post at the University of Wollongong where he directed the Centre for Information Technology Research (CITR), was Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of Computer Engineering.
For the years 1990 to 1994 he took leave of absence from Wollongong to be Foundation Director of the NorTel Technology Centre, an R&D facility established on the campus of the University of Wollongong, by Northern Telecom.
In 1995, he became Research Director at TRL and in 1997 became Director. In
2000, he became Chief Technology Officer of Telstra.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering,
an Emeritus Professor of the University of Wollongong and a Professorial Fellow
at Melbourne University.
